Yes, sure. Check the gate-source voltage during a transmission (using the antenna) with a scope. I don't know the design of your PA but if it is a switch mode PA, the rise time of the Vgs should be in the range of 100 ns or shorter. Post a capture of that measurement if you like.

   I must build an RF ammeter. At the moment I just have
a "Scopematch" in the co-ax near the amp, in the shack
...which is even more informative but maybe not so comfortable for a quick check. I can recommend the "tuning meter" shown by M0BMU, if you want a better overview without running the scope all the time. You probably know it. It is very useful and easy to build on LF.
