Thanks Markus.

I see what you mean, the phase is a mess. I hope that's
propagation and not my transmitter! EbSynth is good but
I'm not convinced yet that the multiplier is behaving.
We've still got that discrepancy with the carrier strength
and BER. Perhaps that's just a consequence of the erratic
phase. That's something I've never properly tested for and
characterised.
I've been glancing at my signal on Gary's page at
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/wgtaylor/grabber2.html
Not being used to transmitting, it's quite a novelty to see
my signal on someone's spectrogram. This is good fun.

I know the stuff you mean, and it sounds ideal. Good idea,
and I may know a place I can get some. It seems that getting
the output transformer right is the hardest thing to do.
Andy I'll have a look at those cores - I didn't know if they'd
be any use at MF. I've got a pile of dead PC power supplies to
strip down or maybe I'll get one from RS. I'm baffled by all
the different core materials, I can never figure out what's
suitable for what and there are so many.
TX still on, valid EbNaut messages since 18:00, will probably
run for another hour.
