Greetings all,

I've been listening on MF a bit more often now, and been fooled by a quite weak CW signal precisely at 472.0 kHz. "Who's that ? Damned, cannot get the complete call" :-)

Listening with a narrow filter now, the 'callsign' is definitely BIA, actually the same as the sideband on 473.0 kHz (but much weaker). I wonder about the cause - do they modulate their AM transmitter with a slightly distorted sinewave (cannot imagine that), or is it an intermodulation in my own receiver ? But other aeronautical beacons don't show similar emissions.

Wonder if anyone else hears that 'QRP-BIA' - signal ..
