Hi Uwe,The clearance between the Decca coils and the screening was at least 2.5x coil dia and the calculated loss assuming perfect continuity between copper sheets was less than 0.1 dB. The trick is "perfect" continuity - all soldered edges, no screws. Aluminium would not be good because of this requirement, in spite of what Mr Terman says. It always oxidises eventually.
