To All from PA0SE,

Sorry  to use  the reflector for a non-lf topic but in this way I can reach many amateurs in the UK that can possibly help me with some info I require.

I am presently writing an article on the 160m band for our VERON magazine Electron.  This band is not as popular here as it was and still is in the UK. The reason is no doubt that only in 1962 we got a small segment, 1825 - 1835kHz, with a maximum allowed power of 10 W.

I found out that in the UK before World War II the band  available to amateurs was 1715 - 2000kHz.  In 1953 this was changed to 1800 - 2000 kHz.

My questions are:

1. Were there any power restrictions in the past and present?

2. Is the band still 1800 - 2000kHz?

Any additional info of interest is also appreciated.

There must be old timers around that  can help me and I thank them in advance.

73, Dick, PA0SE
