Dear LF Group,

Thanks again for the reports on the Jason beacon signal last night - there was less QRN, but I guess propagation across the pond is still down. It was the same story in previous years; not a squeak for weeks on end, then suddenly wonderful conditions for a few days.

I was QRV using QRSS earlier today, and was quite amazed by DF6NM's "SSTV" - see the attachment. Luckily, SpecLab was already set up just right to catch it, although I hope Markus isn't really that colour!

I monitored the antenna resistance while transmitting the Jason signal last night - there was a hard frost, and by the end of the night, the loss resistance had fallen to 26 ohms, compared to 45 ohms during the rain a week or so ago. Unfortunately, the ice seems to have thawed now, requiring me to use more kWh to radiate the same signal.

I will run the Jason beacon again tonight, in the hope that propagation must improve sometime. If you find that the QRSS60 stations are coming in at good strengths, then try taking a look at 137.5025kHz - as usual, any reports very welcome.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
