What you did is most dangerous !
My experience is limited to 1 wife, with whom I am still happily married,
but I can assure you that certain things cannot be done (as taking her
gardening equipment) and if you dare to do it will immediately turn against
you.
Be prepared that in the near future your antennas will be used to dry
clothes on, your soldering iron will be confiscated as an engraving tool
and your modern tranceiver - that can be tuned form LF to 30MHz and has AM
mode - will be used to listen to all kinds of popular music. And this will
be only the beginning, wives have a nearly unlimited imagination how they
can (mis)use our hobby tools.
And all this because of a plastic bucket that you could easily buy for a
few Euro in the next DIY ... how foolish !
If you cannot be persuaded to undertake no such actions in the future I
kindly ask you not to report about it on this reflector. My wife ocasionaly
looks over my shoulder when I am reading my e-mail. It took me a long time
and a lot of effort to convince her that amateur radio is a harmless hobby
and I will not tolerate that foolish actions of others will make her change
her mind.
