Well, i think a 300m kite antenna is not necessary although it would be
interesting to couple the TX in a Zepp- or Fuchskreis- configuration
(you know?) since it is a 1/2 wave vertical then :-) No earth would be
needed and you could use it on /m as well, HI.
I personally think that a real full size dipole could be very
interesting. 2x 150m is handy and quickly hung up in a forest. Sure, the
efficiency wil lbe low but... you know, worth to try! It would be a fine
RX antenna, due to the low noise location...
We have discussed this in the eginning of the VLF times (earth antenna)
and it was a good fun just to try what comes out. On MF you will need
some height above ground of course. But if you can manage to get an
average height of say 10m my guess would be that this will work well,
i.e. a few % efficiency. Maybe others want to comment? :-)
I am also encouraged by Finbar EI0CF, who has
achieved great success on 500 portable as well as from his home QTH.
I am a technician not an Engineer or Scientist (ex. marine R/O) but I can
reproduce ideas from others so I am a keen observer and one of the many "silent"
members learning from the group.
That sounds good! I think there are much more observers here than one
would expect.
Close to the North Sea my /p activity will take advantage of that,
rather than forests.
Oh, ah, OK. So, anyway a kite? If you can drive to the sea with your car
and have strong winds there i suggest to try this kite:

power sled 24. I'm using the power sled 36 and 81 here but on the sea
the smaller one is the better choice i think...
