LF,
This is the light and dark situation to the time when DCF39 disappears
in Venezuela http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19882028/LF/DCFsunriseYV.png
Looks like the first reflection zone in the ionosphere gets ionized to
that time...
Last night i tried to appear in YV using DFCW-180. No chance! There is
just to much QRN which seems to come from South America, since it
disappears to Martin's sunrise, not to our sunrise... Looking forward
to get some more experience on that path, regarding best times in the
year (propagation+QRN...).

The wideband spectrogram on Martin's
grabber
now shows the 137 kHz emission from
CFH peaking around 7 UT. So there is a good pre-sunrise opening from VE
to South America..

BTW Joe, i see good chances for you to leave a trace in YV now! There
is
a lot of QRN, anyway there is only water between the locations and the
EU QRN at least is gone at 4 UTC or so. So you may have a few hours
left...
I just saw the sunrise in YV and a rapid decrease of QRN. All very
interesting to have a grabber in SA now :-)
