Indeed, these frequencies have been used long ago. I remember the "line" 
on 15625 Hz, which was the PAL TV line frequency, but despite TV sets in 
the neighbourhood the Alpha line was clearly visible.

Yes there was a nice audible aurora on VLF this morning. Paul 
Nicholson's automated event detector may have captured and stored some
