Hi Warren,

Building up a LF station is a very great job, i like to it a few hours per day. For me the vertical system is the best choice since i have EXTREMELY low earth losses available but i would also like to build up a loop, i.e. i won't do it but it would be an interesting job and challenge.

The RG-214 has a noticeably lower resistance as one might expect.
I know. The screen of the RG214 is very noble. I also use that cable as the feed cable to the coil.

I live in New England which is heavily wooded. I have experimented with verticals but the ground loss is high due rocky soil is very high.

If you have very lossy ground it is unlikely that you will see a benefit with a Litz wire loading coil as the ground losses >> than the coil loss.
Yes, sure. I meant if you tried RF litz wire for the loop conductor instead of coax. I think about the weight and if you could get a lower loss resistance at the same weight when using RF litz... But it would be quite expensive for the circumference i think.

I have settled on loops as best for my location, but even then I had to put in considerable effort to make sure that the tuner could handle the high currents without over heating.
Which currents do you get? The voltages must be in the range of some 10V i assume. How do you match to 50 Ohm? Do you have plans to improve the system even more?
