I remember calling you with that big signal from Puckeridge Jim with my 
136kHz loop and getting no response.... I was a bit surprised as I was 
working quite a lot of stuff at that range and further so would have 
thought it would have been no problem. There was somewhat of a pileup 
at the time (yes, even on 136..) but even so I was disappointed not to 
have got through as one would have expected the receive performance of 
a vertical that size to be far better than your average home station. 
Maybe that 40dB attenuation completely cancelled it out...
