| Can a thin wire be suspended between two kites, 100m or more apart? The resulting catenary (Oberleitung?) should add considerablyto the capacitance (extra ~480pF?) and raise the overall effective height too. The antenna current would be nearly doubled and the effective height would rise from ~40m to nearer 80m. Roughly, that's 4 times the ERP due to the height increase, and another 4 times due to the increased current. Over 10dB increase. Perhaps they could be even further apart if the catenary wire is light enough? -- Paul Nicholson -- |
