Umm.. there is already a software capable of image-cancelling
I/Q-reception plus QRSS mode.
Just the SL's spectrum analyzer / waterfall to "Complex, separate
I/Q-inputs" and ready you are.
One could also modify John's exciter a bit to turn it into a RX+TX:

(ok, it may be easier to add a second 74HC4066 for the RX side, than to
flip the amplifiers, but the I/Q processing principle remains the same).
If anyone needs additional info on how to configure SpecLab for this
job, I will write step-by-step guide. It's simple once you know how ;-)
