Yes indeed. I use Pegasus Mail (http://www.pmail.com) which is
excellent and virtually immune from all the MS exploits. It can
display HTML correctly, but for preference I have set it to only
display the plain text version of HTML mails if they have one.
In any case the use of a GIF attachment to show text information (and
not even clickable URLs) is a lazy way. The information could just as
easily have been typed into the body of a normal email.
For the vast majority of emails HTML is not necessary.
Of course John could also have got to the MMANA site by clicking on
the link on my website I mentioned in my other mail.
