Dear Roger, LF group,I would echo Alan's comment about the audio input - I have a Compaq CQ-10 netbook and the combined audio in/out via a single 4-pole 3.5mm jack plug is a serious nuisance for amateur radio soundcard use. Definitely look for a machine with seperate mic/headphone sockets. Otherwise it works fine - I generally resort to using a USB sound card with it, although that has its own problems for very high resolution VLF spectrograms. The only software I have had trouble with is Winrad, which refuses to run, apparently due to incompatible display size. Cheers, Jim Moritz73 de M0BMU |
