I read in November QST that the ARRL is still struggling to get
approval for the 136kHz band in the USA. There are apparently big
objections from Part 15 Power Line Communications systems, and
although the ARRL suggests they (ie unlicensed users) have not a case
it looks as if it will be some time before the US amateurs get the
band.
