Since Andy started running the G3PLX
beacon on 503.7 Khz , Gary G4WGT has maintained a monitor
running the G3PLX beacon reporting
software , which can be viewed
on line in real time at :
There are 3 time division
channels available in the beacon system .. Andy is
transmitting in the first time slot and
recording on the 'RED' trace
BLUE and GREEN are recording
, and are available for use , details are posted
:-
To use the blue or green time slots , Andy has
made available a control programme that runs in
windows
and keys the tx via the com
port at 15 minuet intervals , that co inside with the monitoring
window of the
software :-
All that is needed is a CW tx that can be
tuned to 503.7 , A com port tx ppt key as used by most
software to key the tx , but in this case connected
across the CW key line , the pc time needs to be set
as close to 'real' as possible , the rx
software will follow a slight time error
Note , the recoding and tx
control software make up a beacon system .. so if you are
crystal
controlled and want to set up a
experiment with other stations , the RX stations simply
tune
to your ''TX'
frequency and they will record the path on a rolling plot
