Hello from KN05ps, am still around following the LF-net debates and
learning from others experience. Just finished for the last weekend
the new Loop, a 2m diam. hexagon, 10 turns in a good quality multifilar
telephone cable. The loop tuned sharp on 137 KHz with abt. 400 pF, and
can rotate it with a h.m. rotor used earlier with my 2 el 50Mhz Quad !.
The loop is inside the roof space, conected to a KRLR style preamp.
(BF 247, BC 252) and feed with 8m 75 Ohm coax to LF/80m convertor using
a single uA 796 & a 4 MHz Xtal osc. Signals of the DCF 39 are at S9 plus
and can hear equaly well the 135.8 signal from Greece. The most important
is that got a sharp null on the local mains noise. Have heard some QRS
CW on 137,.. KHz, but am not familiar to DSP, my PC (486DX50) seems to be
inadeqaute...do hope my EME experience will help to copy some weak CW, hi.
Have read in the hungarian ham magazine "Radiotehnika" 3/99, that HA2PP
and HA3IS are interested in LF. Also HA8BE, a "top band" specialist, told
me on 2m FM, that he will be soon QRV on 137 KHz. After an enthuziastic
start, no more signs about LF from Slovakia (OM). 73 & DX, Szigy.
