Roger, LF,

Very interesting.

I did do some impromtu testing last night on my usual frequency of 8.976 661 6 kHz
I have installed a cover (tarpaulin) over my loading coil to keep out the rain and was checking to see whether it would affect the Q.
If anything results seem better !

I eventually shut down at 21.30 (20.30Z) so the over night signal is a mystery.
Others have noticed a stable carrier on or near my 'usual' frequency in the past.

I plan to transmit overnight tonight (7/8th April) on the above frequency so would as usual welcome any reports.

If anything my loading coil's inductance is slightly high for the working frequency and I guess the tarpaulin cover has reduced it somewhat and thus improved the tuning.
I have planned for some time to make a variometer to facilitate fine tuning but have had trouble sourcing a suitable coil former (ideally a beer brewing bin or such like).

Overnight I was seeing a weak line at 8.976665kHz lasting from around 0200 to around 0700 (now) on SL with 424uHz setting. The grabber is still on, so you can look yourselves. See https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15047843/xbm_grab.jpg . G3ZJO's grabber is not on to correlate with Eddie's location.

My question is who or what is it? G3XIZ was active last evening, but I do not know if Chris left his TX on overnight. The signal (or interferer) is extremely stable and was detected using the earth electrode antenna (2 electrodes in the garden 15m apart with an elevated wire connection (a loop with the earth return if you like).
