It has been known for people to use an 807 as a first RF stage, and I believe
that at World War II monitoring stations it was used as in broadband amplifiers
to feed a substantial number of HROs and AR88s.

A real amateur wouldn't have put a bulb there in the first place. The
input inductor would have been 10g enam copper (ex-surplus txformer) and
the Ist RF would have been an 807 !
