Having just attempted a physical realisation of the experiment using a
chicken and an egg, but minus the cat (none of my neighbors would volunteer theirs),
I regret to report that I cannot state a definite conclusion. Just as I was
preparing to make an observation, I happened to sneeze. This caused the
chicken so much uncertainty that it flapped out of the box in fright, invalidating
all hypotheses about the state of the egg.
I fear this will be known in the annals of science as my Gesundheit
Experiment.
