Stefan and all,

Thanks for the reports for the initial beacon trials.  The trials allowed me to verify the operation of my station and implement a number of improvements.

Stefan, your suggestions are most correct for EbNaut beacon operations on 2200.  I have a bit more work to do on the station and then will begin announced beacon operations with my call sign only and shorter duration.

Thanks again & 73,

Rob,

I tried all available files but without a single decode. Maybe it is just propagation? My timing and frequency stability should be OK.
If you like, try a shorter mesage, <= 5 characters in < 30 minutes.

Thanks for the reports and comments on the trial run last night.  Not surprised by the excellent decodes from W1VD over a relatively short path!

I will move up 0.5 Hz for tonight and tomorrow to 137477.5 Hz as requested by DK7FC.  All other parameters remain unchanged.

The new antenna matching and tuning unit I recently built and installed was only slightly warm after running overnight at full input power.  Most excellent!

Hello LFers,

I will be running a trial EbNaut beacon on 2200m this weekend (24, 25 and 26 August) to make sure everything plays together and the smoke stays in the wires & components.

Details:
Freq  137477.00 Hz, Coding 8K19, CRC 16, 3 sec symbols, 13 character message, Duration 44:48.00, Starting on the hour @ 1 watt EIRP.  The transmitted signal & carrier include a 10 minute on-off CW ID at 20 WPM running on top of the EbNaut carrier.

Reports, observations and comments welcome :-)

Rob - K3RWR
