Pulled the plug at 21 UT. My carrier was on air for 10:44 hours this Sunday, with only a couple of short interruptions. For some reason the antenna current was slightly behind yesterday's (0.34 instead of 0.37 A). Again our joined three-fold activity was well rewarded by good traces in Todmorden and in Cumiana, though I guess I'm still lacking a few dB's to reach one of Eddies spectrograms. BTW This morning I attempted to measure the effective height of my antenna at VLF, by comparing receive signal levels from HWU, DHO and DCF to a small nonresonant loop. The result was 8 (+-1) meters, similar to what I had found earlier for 137 kHz. Radiation resistance at 8.27 kHz is thus ~ 77 microohms. Cumiana also showed two nice peaks at 20 UT. The carrier is back on 8270.0025 since 10:16 UT. This is the best that I can do http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/170211b.png Something wrong with Uwe's signal, off-frequency and wandering. It would be similar strength to DK7FC if it was all in one bin. -- Paul Nicholson -- |
