Well ... after the initial beacon bedlam ... (ground wave induced I might
add) things sort of settled down , the beacons migrated to the edges of
the band , cw tended to congregate round 502 Khz with 85 hz shift rtty
featuring round this frequency as well, the nightly GI/GM qso was cantered
round 501.5
The gathering of wspr round 503.6 is a comparatively new 'thing' which may
of been jelled by Gary operating close to his normal 'qrss' beacon
frequency of 503.6 , to date it was only myself and Jim who could generate
and transmit any mode , Chris operated rtty fsk but usually round 502. I
tended to centre round 503 for any data tests.
A lot of stations where/are xtal controlled, and as such a band plan would
not of been much use, locality was and is the main problem. Gary and my
self for example having virtually a clear band to experiment in !
I would suggest that wspr activity is migrated to the top 200 Hz of the
band .. that's if the qrp beacon that lived there has stopped sending.. to
give the widest separation from other users, centred on 503.9 Khz carrier
frequency ?

Is there some sort of unofficial bandplan on this band? I'm rather
late coming on to it having only got the NoV last week, and haven't
followed the reflector over the last year or two (microwaves were
calling)
Clearly WSPR needs to be concentrated on a particular centre freq
(503.5), but what else is standard?

Currently listening to your QSO on CW with Chas. This is the first time
I think I've heard you on "real man's CW". Even in wideband mode, so I
can continue the WPSR monitoring, you're a good 539 in the old money.
