Dear all,

I do hope that Magne is not in the same position as a ship's operator in the harbour of Narvik. It ist known that this harbour is surrounded by mountains which effectively screen it from the sea. You can operate the alarm sign generator (preceeding the usual SOS distress call) in the harbour (to alert a colleague on another ship within the harbour, as has been done) but You will not trigger autoalarm equipment of ships outside the harbour.

I did some tests with Christer, SM6PXJ, last night - but with
no success whatsoever.

So I guess it's back to the drawing board again....

I suspect the wire used in the horizontal section is not of
premium quality, and will try to replace that.

The current ground system is a "web" of fire sprinkler pipes
(several kilometers of it, I guess). It's also connected to
the building's water pipes (another kilometer, I think).
I'm not sure, but I think it's the best ground I can get
around here. Any comments on that?
