Fine. Tks for replies.
I'm not concerned about the RX stability contribution-that's under
control (or should be!) But for non-GPS disciplined TXs I wondered
just how good they would have to be to be able to be 'observed'-as in
how much latitude there was for the transmitted frequency to be offset
from the nominal. Seems like plus/minus 1 Hz may be the limit as per
Scotts email, although as Murray points out, the phase info will
probably be of no particular value for such sources, always assuming
the source remains inside the above limits over the integration time.
Possible 'targets' noted, Murray- Is there a source from Antarctica on
exactly 20 kHz? I had a look for the 19.1 kHz TX down there last year
but as it was only on for 60 seconds at a time every few minutes I
didnt 'copy' it. Not sure if it's still running-must check.
I'll get back to you re a test on 181.4 some time soon.

Your RX needs to be stable to within a Hz if it is Clicklock can
deal with the variations... If the RX is say 2 Hz off calibration
then simply offset the integer value set in phase scope to deal with
this... RX stability to within a Hz (+- 0.5Hz) is the most important
feature and most LF receivers do this well. Otherwise the Clicklock
alg. can deal with it...
