I keep a separate computer for radio work on UTC but do
not worry too much about it now that I know there is 5 hours
difference.
A good time for EU dx reception is around 0630 - 0730
utc grey line just before sunrise here in the UK, another good time is
just before and after your sunset. These appear
to be the peak signal times at present. In between these times there is variable
propagation until either end gets into daylight

Actually, I came up with a rather simple solution. I have an extra
computer in the basement that I think I will bring upstairs and press into
service as a "radio computer". I'll keep the clock on that one set to UTC, so
all loggings will bear the UTC time stamp. I'll just need to buy a cheap sound
card for it, as, if I remember correctly, it has no onboard sound.

Mal,
Thanks for the welcome and the information. I took a quick look at ARGO
and it seems to get it's time stamp from whatever the computer clock is set
to, which happens to be EST for me (UTC -5). I did not see a way to change
it in ARGO without changing the main computer clock to UTC, so I'll just do
the conversion myself and report it in the text portion of any future
receptions. :-)

Hi Doug
I hope you are enjoying the LF activity on 136
Khz.
Tnx for the report from Tennessee. My location
is Scarborough, East coast England - IO94SH. Distance between us is
6318 K/metres
If you need any more info let me know
I was transmitting QRSS 30 and listening on 7033 Khz
for any xband calls for a QSO
Because of so many time zones to the East es West of
me maybe UTC time reporting would be better if possible. Not
sure what the time difference is between UTC es EST
73 es GL and agn tnx hpe to hear from u agn soon

LF: 136 kHz in TN
Hello all. I just joined this reflector and thought I would post
last night's TA reception of DK7FC and G3KEV. Time stamps on ARGO are in
Eastern Standard Time.
Nice signals here in Tennessee, guys.
