Hi Tracey, Alex,
I have a 1650/6 which Geoff mofided by the addition of an opto-encoder for
tuning as well as some other modifications. It works well but lacks a narrow cw
filter which would be necessary for LF work.

He did an article on his conversion in the Eddystone User Group
magazine.
