Just a non-scientific observation that HBG was coming in quite clearly at
2130.

And a thought -- since my present sunset time is 2115 UTC, there is some
disadvantage in waiting until 2300 to start, as QRN from my west is coming
in by that time. On the other hand, W4DEX's sunset is almost an hour later
at 2209, so your pre-2200 "audience" would be limited.

I am transmitting on 72.4005 at the moment. I was not going to do so because
it had been raining steadily for several hours and this tends to reduce the
erp due to (I think) dielectric losses. However I managed to get 3.5 amps
into the antenna in spite of everything including the coil plastic cover
being soaked.

Perhaps the RF will dry it off - steam radio!

I will close the transmitter down before I turn in if I din't get any
e-mails to say someone is looking.
