Hello, All,
This morning, 2006/05/25, at 08:13 UTC Steve, VE7SL, made a two-way QSO on
137.5735 kHz with VY1JA using QRSS60. His signals were so strong that in
the end, I asked him to switch to conventional CW and he was 100% copy at
about 12 WPM. I hope to be able to send Steve the .WAV file and captures of
the QSO from my end for his website.
I believe this is the first ever LF QSO from Yukon.
The transmitter at the Yukon end was Steve's old tuning transmitter running
at its low power setting, approximately 25-30 Watts, which should be about
0.1W ierp.
Steve should get a gold star for his skill at pulling out the weak signals.
When parts arrive in the next week or so, I will be switching the station to
VFO control and be moving the transmitter frequency to the watering hole on
about 137.77845
Many thanks to Steve for his patience for the 2-1/2 hours it took to get
this QSO through.
73,
"J"
