Hello Folks,

There has been a lot of talk lately about QRSS an the success at copying
beacons using this mode.
I have always been interested in this mode.

One drawback of course is the difficulty in copying by ear. The low speed
CW works well with
FFT programs like SPECTRAN EZ-GRAM but so good with the human ear.

After spending many hours looking at the computer screen and FFT programs I
got to wondering if a dual mode CW
ID string was not possible.

For instance.... A beacon about 60 miles from here with a good copy id "RI"

With FFT programs at the fastest speed you can see the dits and dahs of the
letters, RI

The beacon is sending at maybe 10 WPM(Guess). Good for the ear. not so good
for FFT.

But if you look at the RI in BW normally resevered much slower CW rate, the
letters all blur together and
you get the letter "N" repeated. Not a perfect "N" but it could probably be
made to look more accurate
by the proper choice of letters. Someone could probably figure out what
combinations of letters
could be used for a dual mode CW like this........

Does this sound crazy? I may have been staring at the computer screen too
long when I got this idea.

I'll risk the embarrasement.... please comment to the groups.

Thank you for reading this
