Hi all, Just in case it might be of use/interest i have loaded an Excel spreadsheet onto my web site which does a calculation of the ERP of a Marconi and loop aerial, of the same dimensions. This may be useful for determining what aerial current you must restrict to if you are to stay within the 100mW ERP restriction. Exterience on 136khz has shown that the measured ERPs from typical amateur locations are about 6dB below the value calculated . This is probably due to the high angle radiation of short aerials and the absorption of foliage and surrounding buildings. The sheet is not yet indexed on my "download" page but may be accessed directly with www.alan.melia.btinternet.co.uk/download/ERP1.xls Please allow for finger trouble at this end and advise if there are any problems of access or operation. Cheers de Alan G3NYK |
