This seems a sensible suggestion to me when the band has settled down. At present I expect some are xtal controlled to get started, but vfo is desired and the band plan should work.
I am already vfo so its not a problem for me.
There is quite a difference on this band betweem daytime and the dark hours with propagation. It is similar to 160 metres at the other end of the MF band.
I spent a few months on XMAS ISLAND in the pacific during 1999, in fact I spent XMAS there in the sunshine and had a turkey dinner as well !!!!!!
On MF there was nil to be heard during daytime but after dark we listened to the radio stations from Honolulu KHON and KGU these were low power radio stations but very strong after dark, I think one was located in the Hawiian Village Hotel, a place I used to frequent when in Honolulu.
The general radio environment was excellent on the Island surrounded by the blue pacific, HF sounded like VHF no noise.

Subject: LF: 500 Band Plan

Hi Dave,
YES, I think we do need  PLAN.
Can I kick off by suggesting :-
Beacon    501  to  501.5  narrow because beacons need to be stable and can get a lot in with care.
CW QSO mode  501.5  to  503.5
Digimodes  503.5 to 504 again narrow because of need to be stable.
Why not use this repeater it is underused for LF at present.

By the way just had first 500kHz QSO !   with G3KEV.

73 all Laurie.
