I had a mistake, the Doppler effect was negative, e.g. -4Hz; I forgot I was receiving on LSB.

Evidently some ionospheric bending as I suspected, there are two other reports from Europe as far as I know.

Detected here some weak echoes even after Moonset at 5:50 UTC, at about -4º of altitude. Same +4 Hz Doppler effect.
 
Direct 2 seconds pulses with strong QSB, even 2 peaks in the same pulse, but always visibles.

perhaps you will get some bending by the ionosphere or alternatively some 'horizon gain'?
