Dear Markus, LF Group,
There was one problem I recall from when we were
using WOLF a few years back - the decoder would not work on strong local sigs,
and the solution was to turn the gain right down when receiving an audible
signal - I believe Stewart was aware of that problem at the time, but I don't
know whether he or Wolf have got round to fixing it since then.
The other thing that caused a few scratched heads
was the need to calibrate both the receiver frequency error, and the sound card
sample rate - otherwise, if the sample rate was out, it was possible to
compensate for the frequency error, but then the bit clock of TX and RX would
get out of step over a long integration period. This was mostly a problem when
you were trying to copy a very weak signal.
Cheers, Jim Moritz
