Dear Steve and All,
let me tell you a little bit about DI2AG on 440Khz. I am ham now since 51years
and was always interested in HF-propagation, from UHF to LF and MW as well. As
we do not have an amateur radio location on MW I asked the the german
authorities for a special permit with low power and only very small band
operation - CW, QRSS, DFCW, PSK....... And I got it. 9W ERP, 200Hz bandwidth,
440KHz. The permit is valid to the end of 2005, maybe it can be prolonged.
Mostly DI2AG operates as a beacon on 440.044KHz in QRSS3 with 0.5W ERP,
sometimes at weekend or on request with 3W ERP. Got reports from 14 european
countries ( sorry, not VE, W ), ODX is 2463Km to TF.
But please realize: DI2AG is no amateur radio application, the "DI"-prefix is
only for research and test. Therefore no amateur radio operation, no duplex
and so on. (But if you send me a sreenshot with reception I will
send you a QSL-card ;-)
