Alans comments re Reg's Groundwave program and
DCF39 prompted me to get my F/S equipment out this morning. I use a
calibrated ferrite rod antenna and an SPM-3 Level meter.
DCF39 was producing 599 microvolts per metre here
at 1200.
Using GROUNDWAVE 3 :-
Pwr 50KW
Ant. eff 80%
Ground 7
Dist 750Kms (guess)
gives a calculated field strength of 649 microvolts
per metre
so perhaps my equipment is not too far out. But of
course there are many variables.
Watch the static etc I lost my modem a coule of
days ago, grounded the ants. but left modem connected. Wont do it
again.
