This afternoon, while characterising the long delayed LF antenna now draped
artistically all round the garden (looks like 10 microhenries and 1000pFas
the first approximation),
I was delighted to hear, at 1534z, G3OLB in QSO with MB2HFC on
136.45something.
G3OLB 589; MB2HFC569.
This was using the old loading coil and vacuum C, but since the tx is still
languishing under the bench waiting completion it was not possible to join
in. The new coil with vario is far too big for 136 but seems to resonate
pretty well on 73 (which is the real interest) so it should not be too long
now before there is resident activity from GI.
Had to cry off the convention, unfortunately, but that's life.
Will post again as things progress.
Ian.
