The mornings this weekend seemed reasonably static free at this qth. I am
afraid my log of a signal seen on FFTDSP4 for OK1FIG was over optimism. The
trace turned out to be a weak harmonic of my VGA frame signal, which went
away when the monitor was switched off. Dave G3YXM called Wolf a couple of
times on Saturday afternoon (1540Z and 1607Z) that I heard, but was not
heard
by Wolf. Dave must be one of the strongest signals out of the UK.
I had assumed when I bought my Hyundai Low Radiation monitor that the
Low-rad
refered to ionising radiation, i.e.X-rays from the faceplate, but it seems
not, the low rad refers to electromagnetic radiation. It is certainly
livable with on 136, whereas the other VGA and SVGS monitors I use, totally
destroy the band for listening. This might be a help for anyone
contemplating
Spectrogram listening.
