Hi Tom At the moment the three ends are insulate. Is it better to short the three ends, or better to insulate the ends?? As far as performance is concerned it doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference if the wires are separated at the ends or shorted together. However, if you are running a lot of power with a suburban sized antenna then the voltage on the antenna is very high. Corona at the ends of the wires can minimised by shorting the wires together.
