I thought you were whipping out a tube amp for LF also. Probably would handle the antenna input impedance changes as the wind blows better than a FET amp does. The US guys on 505kc are mostly running

Perhaps at this low frequency you can just insert a current meter between the grid pin and ground, bypassed with some capacitors ? Costas SV1XV
