Hi all, There are vorbis streams available on VLF by Paul Nicholson and Wolf/DL4YHF and a few more known people from the scene. As far as i know these are in vorbis format, like my MF/VLF stream. Wha

Hi Stefan, I don't really know the answer but here's a guess: If I remember right, your MF receiver gets the signal from the antenna through a mechanical filter. The passband is some 8 or 10 kHz wide

Hi Tobias, Stefan and all, Indeed, but despite what Tobias said the Vorbis encoder / decoder leaves extremely weak signal intact, which are *many* dBs below the human hearing threshold. At least with

I tested weak signal detection. Measuring carrier S/N after a range of compression types and quality settings. Test carrier: 400 Hz; Noise: Additive white Gaussian; Bandwidth: 16.666 mHz (60 seconds)

Hello Paul, Thanks, that could be most useful here. Interesting to see the little loss at q=0.5 / q=0.8 but the much lower data rate. I'm also running VBR but q=1 so far, and got 215 kbps. I'm going
