First try... STING HIIBAROWN P UM OVER THE AZY DG ETINL B GJRAVH G4LRH G4WTIOMFBENG RY YURYRYRYRYVT FRZRS RQYJYRYRYRJGU I thought it would print better than that! Will fiddle with RX settings. John
How much difference would there be between 45 and 45.45Bd? I was intially set at 45.45Bd... Will try again at 45 -- John GM4SLV IP90gg Clousta, Shetland
I'd guess that given similar conditions 85Hz would be perfect copy. The decode margin on 23Hz must be tiny! I'll try to get a few hours in the shack tomorrow (no promises though!) John
Thanks Graham.... so that's what narrow shift RTTY sounds like.., I'll try to decode some now I know. Looks probable given the audible strength of it. John
Gary Note , in MMTTY there is the option of 45 baud , or 45.45 baud ! G .. Hi John, If the decoder states 45 bd it means 45.45 bd, I don't believe you can change that parameter so no problem. 73 Gary
that all depends on your software! gMFSK has the choice of 45 or 45.45 There are just as many errors (ie lots) whichever speed I choose. The noise seems to be wrecking the decoding despite a reasonab
Thats what the one and a half stop bits are for !! and dating from the days of mechanical serial to parallel converters "clocked" by DC motors with centrifugal governors. Cheers Alan G3NYK
Hi John, Thats Gary , g4wgt , running 45.45 baud rtty , 23 Hz shift , you need select 23 hz shift rtty in multi psk ... or mode 23 hz in mmtty , he is dead center on 503.6 G .... Intresting night , t

Hi John, I am testing in narrow shift RTTY, 45bd, 23Hz shift. 73 Gary - G4WGT - IO83qp Hello LF, I'm hearing PSK sounding data on 503.6 but unable to decode as normal PSK31 What mode is it? -- John G
Hi John, Yes, just sussed that out with MMTTY but my TrueTTY will not move from 45bd. Tommorow night I wil use 85 Hz shift. 73 Gary - G4WGT - IO83qp -- Original Message -- From: "John Pumford-Green G
