Steve The other consideration with giving S-meter readings on LF is that there is often a reasonably steady 'noise floor' punctuated by static crashes which may be pinning the meter for a fair bit of

OK thanks. I have a clearer picture now. Doing a napkin analysis and taking into account the logarithmic nature of the S-meter readings, it seems that, for example, if you have, say, S5 noise alone
