Alan, When you wrote :- my only comment is that you may have too much gain in the system. Are you meaning sound card or receiver gain? Gary. Hi Gary my only comment is that you may have too much gain
Andy, OK, I will insert an attenuator at the antenna socket (that’s an easy move) & watch how it performs. It is switched at 10dB steps so I will start at 10db of course. Cheers, Gary. From: ow
Andy, That's the problem with windows hihi .. lucky to get as pulse the same minuet ....but what happens if the tx pulse is slightly before and after the measurement window ? That was the idea behind
LF, I have now got the software, Syncback running correctly (I think). The purpose of this is to upload the chart from Andy’s beacon as received here to my web site periodically, ie. every 30 m
Gary.. That looks good ... 0500 looks best time for a qso .. see you then Smile emoticon Smile emoticon minute intervals. <<< that could be backed off to 15 mins as the beacon only sends every 15 ??
Those two time slots of 15 minute interval plus 5 and 6 that generate the green and blue traces could be used by others. There is no need to generate the full beacon sequence, just a precisely time
Doesn't matter which - just total system gain. That S/W works best if the noise threshold rides at about 10dB above the baseline, then it allows for up to 70 - 80dB of signal peaks. Andy G4JNT www
Hi Gary my only comment is that you may have too much gain in the system. It is sometimes better to have the noise further down nearer the axis. I am afraid there is a major problem with this kind of
Hi Alan, All comments noted. This type of beaconing is new to me, I did not participate in the 5MHz beacon other than just have a look using the software for a short while when it was first introduce

Hi Gary, The page seemed to refresh quite often ... are there two settings ? G .. From: [email protected] Gary - G4WGT Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 10:40 AM To: [email protected] rsgb_lf
For various reason I'm going to have to switch the beacon off during some day-time periods, but it should always be on from evening through to the following morning. The on-off sessions should be o
Andy, Is there any way the slots could be filled using a pc ... ? if a small exe could be run to make a cw pulse then that would be no problem ? G .. From: [email protected] Andy Talbot Sent:
Hi Graham, LF, You wrote :- is set at 5 minute intervals and auto refresh at 2 minute intervals. <<< that could be backed off to 15 mins as the beacon only sends every 15 ?? I mentioned in my previou
Ok Andy Easily ... that's the problem hihi .. Is there anyone tuned in who could write a short code to say ,select the com port, time slot and key the com port ? , That way any simple cw tx could be
Andy, I inserted 10dB for the 2104 Tx & then 20dB but at the 2119 Tx there was a very deep fade (QSB) which I also noted on a separate Rx. I will leave it at 20dB for a longer period. Recent levels a
Hi Graham, LF, The original HTML Code for the 2 minute refresh is still inserted into the page format, so upload is 30 minute intervals with Syncback & 2 minute refresh. I have left the refresh in ca
See you just have - got quite a shock until I realised the noise had plummeted as well. Any takers for the 5 and 6 minute slots? Andy G4JNT www.g4jnt.com 2009/3/16 Gary - G4WGT <[email protected]>
