Andy, Quick Q .. is the reception software capable of auto reporting to the 5 meg group ? I have an idea it has this facility .or at least produces a -5 meg- report file . if so can it be turned off
OK Andy, I was thinking more in terms of generating the pulse using 'audio' and not by hard keying .. but the 'area under the curve' looks a little 'thin' ..pity .. the rest of the system could be 'c
There is no auto reporting feature in that S/W. It generates a log file containing S/N of each beacon / time slot, which the user then has to personally send to the 5MHz working group. Andy G4JNT
Ok Andy, Obvious question, hi, How long are you thinking of running the beacon and where do you want the report files to be sent ? There may be quite a few records generated in a short time, I note f
Not strictly - Look at it in th efreqeuncy domain. A 500us pulse has its first zero at 2000/pi = 637Hz, so most of the energy is within 1300Hz bandwidth, and a substantial part will pass though the
Ok Andy Seeing a good signal from your beacon, game on !. Well ... if the reports are sent to the 5 meg system , that may cause (more) confusion .... but there is a need to produce some experimental
Graham - I'm not sure I know what you are hoping to do with the sounder pulse. It was incorporated into the 5MHz system to allow propagation investigations into multiple skywave hops and multipa
I've now started transmitting a timed beacon signal on 503.7kHz that is identical in format to that of GB3SSS operated over the winter months of the last two years from Poldhu on 1.9 and 3.5MHz, a
Andy, Thanks for the information, I can see the advantage of the phase reversal similar to the navy?s chirp radar , pulse-width reduction. The situation is a little convoluted, I was contacted by Rob
Hi Graham - I'm not bothered about log files myself as I don't have the time to collate massses of data but if someone else feels they'd like to do it... Haven't hought about how long it will go f
