Hoping to do some testing this evening at 477.695 kHz after a rebuild of the TX. A bigger PSU gives me around 150W DC input so that should be good for a few extra dB. Hoping to see if the anomaly bet
Some interruptions to the signal, a problem with the tx and I've had to drop down to a lower power. Next complete message starts 20:00. -- Paul Nicholson --
The RL is back in the air so at least another 3 dB over the last attempt. 10 chars, 8K19A, 752 symbols one second long and repeat every 15 mins starting 2100 until 1000 utc tomorrow. 73 & GL Joe VO1N
Oh yes, it might help to give the frequency. Sorry! Its 477.700 kHz The RL is back in the air so at least another 3 dB over the last attempt. 10 chars, 8K19A, 752 symbols one second long and repeat e
Thanks Markus, much appreciated. A good decode of a weak signal. Maybe tomorrow I'll try again with higher power so that anomaly will show up more clearly if still present. PA was misbehaving tonight
Hi Markus, Thank-you for taking a look. The propagation indicies, DST, carrier frequency and SWR all look good so I wonder what the problem is. 73 Joe VO1NA Sorry Joe, not the faintest trace here on
Hello Joe, We are stuck in the aftermath of another geomagnetic storm and T/A propagation is rather poor. Nonetheless, your signal made it. See attachment. There is also another signal at 22:45 UTC t
That was me at 477695.00000 Hz, 5Hz below VO1NA. 22:28 to 22:30 carrier 22:30 to ~ 22:40 EbNaut with same signaling rate as Joe. Distance about 450 km. ERP something below 100mW. -- Paul Nicholson --
Hello Paul, Thank you for confirming the identity of this signal. Did you also transmit on February 17/18 from about 22:30 - 00:30 UTC? 73, Roelof Bakker
Not me. Active on the evening of the 13th and overnight 477.695 kHz 14th 22:24:00 to 15th 16:00:00. Maybe it was Riccardo IW4DXW JN64 who also has been using 477.695 kHz with EbNaut, same signaling r
Thanks Roelof, It seems the MF sigs get strongly attenuated over the land. Markus saw nothing and I couln't see antthing on Stefan's grabbers even the one in his garden. Your report is encourating. A
Hi Markus, I forgot to mention that the carrier remained on last night. Same tonight. Thanks for watching. Joe Hi Joe, RX is online again. Please make sure to leave the carrier on air all the time be
Hello Joe, Propagation was worse at the start but picked up after 04.30 UTC for a short time. At its strongest, the carrier was 8 dB above the band noise in a 10 Hz bandwidth and easy to copy by ear.
That's some good reception Roelof. I'm going to find myself a hawthorne tree. No EbNaut from here for a couple of days, waiting for parts to arrive. My junk box has let me down and I have to go shopp
Yes - sort of. ... ish ... See http://www.g4jnt.com/137tx.pdf No snubbers in sight, all returned to the supply rail 'jnt On 22 February 2016 at 11:50, Paul Nicholson <[email protected]> wrote: Has
Interesting indeed, thanks. The idea of an inductor to restrict the shoot-through current is new to me and looks great. And the recovery winding over the tuning coil to restrict the load current by t
