This evening I tried listening with my 20m spaced ground electrode pair "antenna" on 500kHz WSPR. To my surprise it received G3ZJO and G7NKS at -26dB S/N.  I'm tempted to try this on TX on 500kHz and

Roger What was your best range on 9khz with this and what Tx power? I might try that as I have good ground here Cheers Jim

Hi Roger this kind of antenna works best with POOR grounds ....it is rubbish on the sea shore. They depend on a reasonable skin-depth in the ground at the operating frequency, to form and underground

This antenna falls in the category of having an antenna and being on the air is so much better than not having any antenna and being on the computer. At the very least it may be a good earth worm ext
