Do you mean the type with copper-clad steel wire inside? In that case yes - it is very good. Lightweight and has good strength. Needs replacement from time to time depending on air pollution levels a

Tony, If you need a long wire , Check out the telephone installers , I found a trade supplier that was nearly half the e-bay price for a drum of N-10 drop wire , a 250 mtr roll came the next day , de

Sorry, I sent the last message before my brain was in gear. The wire I'm talking about is to make a double inverted "L", not feeder coax.

Sorry to ask a stupid newbie question but what is the best wire for my aerial ? I had thought about getting a couple of 100m rolls of cheapo RG58 and soldering the centre and screen together, or is t

Hello Tony, there are two problems using RG58 that way: The antenna will be too heavy. You will never get a minimal sag even if you could tension the RG58 as it should be. But RG58 as well as the mos

Tony, Depends on the un supported span , I think RG58 was used by DL stations a while ago as 80 mtr dipoles, I use the old 7 strand conduit (35 amp ?) at home and the 600 ft delta loop at gb4fpr also

Dear Tony, LF Group, The most important parameter of an LF vertical antenna is its height, more specifically the "effective height", which, for antennas that are a small fraction of a wavelength in o

Dear LF Group, I believe most LF amateurs favour string for their antennas - preferably well soaked in brine to maximise conductivity... But seriously, I have found 24/0.2 or 32/0.2 stranded PVC insu
